THAT time of year is crashing down upon us, and if you’re anything like me the long nights, the chilly weather and the pressure of the season will be starting to make you feel properly rubbish. Luckily, local startup The Robin’s Retreat has the perfect antidote!
This fantastic organisation is dedicated to creating a warm, friendly space to get out of your house, get out of your head and come meet some like-minded people over coffee and crafts. They will be running a series of events in the Stoke-on-Trent area this winter, and I’m honoured to be a part of the very first event, where we’ll learn how to make our own superhero rings. Great for gifts or for a boost on days where you feel like you need a hero, these colourful rings are guaranteed to banish the winter blues!
I’ll be guiding you through the process of making your own rings in whatever colours you choose. I’ll show you how to use essential jewellers tools and some easy tips and tricks for working with wire. You’ll leave with two new rings, a goody bag and some new skills you can use to make your own creations!
And that’s not all - local musician Rich Beecher will be showing us how to use percussion and rhythm to reduce stress and stay centred.
The workshop will be held in a wonderfully cosy space at St Barnabas church hall in Bradwell (full details further down) between 4 and 6pm, juice and sandwiches will be provided free of charge, and coffee and cake will be available for a small donation to help The Robin’s Retreat continue their work in the community.
Tickets to this event are free, but places are limited so you will need to book your tickets to save yourself a place. You can book your tickets through the event page here.
I look forward to seeing you there!
